Mission

Water Security Science

This unit studies desalination chemistry, osmotic transport behavior, and membrane performance under demanding operational conditions. Its work supports freshwater access strategies for crisis zones, coastal communities, and infrastructure-stressed regions.

Research priorities include fouling control, pretreatment chemistry, energy-efficient separation, brine-risk mitigation, and modular purification systems that can inform both laboratory development and field deployment planning.
